I think many, disolitude and others are kinda missing the point a little. The point isn't the gameplay as much as the setting. I mean, how innovating can a hack'n slash game be? They are all very similar to each other in that aspect. So from a gameplay mechanics point of view there's no doubt that Dante's Inferno will be like God of War/DMC.
The beauty of Dante's Inferno is it's setting and atmosphere, the adventure of going through the nine circles of Hell portrayed through wonderful graphics design and art style. This vision is best explained in this video (remember to click Hq/HD):
And so far Visceral Games seem to have been making a superb job in my opinion.
