True a 51GB HD-DVD disc is currently going through the finalization proccess, however, exesting players will not be able to play it. On the other hand Hitachi has shown off a 100GB Blu-ray disc that is currently going through finalization, and it would only require a firmware upgrade to the older players. To me it looks like early adapter of both formats will be screwed as now the HD-DVD camp has to buy new machines to play the discs and the Blu-ray camp has to buy new machines to get all the features. The only people that will not get the shaft are the PS3 owners as it is capable of spec 2.0 Blu-ray which at the moment is a full spec player.
