| ZenfoldorVGI said: Wrong. This announcement is being vastly overblow. All those things you've mentioned are quanitative bullet points, and have nothing to do with how good the game will be, or how it will end up. Same thing I said when Sony fans were heavily touting Resistance 2's superiority over Gears, due to a number of meaningless bulletpoints. In the end, it is how the game plays, the quality of the graphics and environments, and the quality of content that will earn the title to difinitive sim this gen, and not some meaningless talking point such as "my game has night racing." It's silly to sum up an entire game as inferior, simply because it doesn't have some generic specific feature you believe a game of this genre should have. Especially something as trivial as night racing. The lack of weather effects is much more significant to me, however, I do believe that this falls under that same theory. You don't know how the game will play, or be. You think you do, because it is a simulation, and you think it should be as close to real life as possible, but that isn't true. Above all else, it is a game, and even if it doesn't have any of those things you've mentioned, it could still be the best racing game this genration, if it is. Things like this won't sway that either way. It's the quality of your content that matters, not the spin of your talking points. That is something that I wish a few people would understand better on this forum, and in life. |
So your saying that if what I bullet pointed are what I consider to be important than I am wrong?
If I think that 16 cars on track is better than 8 that means I am wrong?
If I think that 800 cars is better than 400 that means I am wrong?
If I think that night racing is important I am wrong?
If this is what I think personally and what I value in a racing game than I am actually in fact right and not wrong.
To you these may not be important, but to me they might be, and for that you are wrong in saying that I am wrong, because those bullet points are what I am looking at. The features I am personally looking for are in one game and not the other (if this news is indeed true), so for that I can in fact decide for myself if one is better than the other. Same goes for anyone else in this thread who shares a similar thought.
You really think it isn't a big deal that I may need to do a race that spans 24-hours yet it will remain daytime during the entirety of the race?
If that is how you feel, then by all means go ahead and think that way.
That was the point of my post. I think one way, you think another. Calling someone a fanboy for thinking the way some people in here do is ridiculous because by your newly appointed standard that makes me a "Sony fanboy" because I actually see this news as a negative and I am doing what you consider to be "overblown".
If I do now fall into that category then so be it. This is my opinion on the news and it won't change.
I also am not sitting here trying to claim it as inferior with the bulletpoints. Please re-read my post. I used those bulletpoints as part of my point where I said Turn-10 shouldn't have went around touting their game as superior. If that makes me so wrong, then at least agree with me in saying that Turn-10 shouldn't have touted their game as superior, seeing as how I can't sit here and say it is inferior.
So I just have one question for you then.
If I don't get to decide which game is better, who does?
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
