It's an attempt to put pressure on Sony to cut the price of their machine, which would lead to more HD consoles on the market and a larger potential customer base for HD Activizion games. It's in their interest for a PS3 price cut to occur, and as such, Bobby Kotick is using his position to try and persuade Sony to play their hand. What you might see, in the worst possible situation, is Activizion cutting down on the amount of games appearing on the PS3. Their bread and butter staples like Guitar Hero and COD will not be going anywhere though. Lurker said:Sony wouldn't be laughing if they did pull support. Those COD players would go and get a 360
This whole threat is made in the interest of making money. Activizion will not throw away millions of potential sales.

Activision threatened Sony because of lowering attach rates and they are expecting them to lower even more. Those people are a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, whom make WOW. Do you think they are afraid of losing something?
