I thought I'd like to tell you all, that R&D is working on something regarding to online, I'm not sure if it is for the DSi or the Wii, but this could be a good chance to send them some requests. Reggie Fils-Aime said that he and Nintendo are in fact looking at the competitors. The one he is looking at the most is Microsoft and what they are doing with Xbox Live. He said "how can we [Nintendo] make something even better than Xbox Live." So Nintendo is definitely working on something for the online forefront, it's just we don't know yet.

On topic:
What I think Nintendo should fix with their online service is definitely FCs and Wii Speak. If the Wii actually had a list where you can see what friends are online and what they are playing. You should have the ability to send them a written/voice message, jump directly into the game they are playing, and start a private party. In the private party you can talk to the person no matter what game you are playing, or if you are not playing a game at all. What I'm basically saying is take the Wii Speak Channel out and just have that as a basic functionality for the entire Wii.

DLC and patches are a must have in video games, it's impossible for a perfect game with no flaws, so I don't understand why you don't want that. Look at The Conduit, it's plagued with glitches online. With no patches, that won't get fixed. Now think about all other Wii games that will be plagued with glitches that'll never get fixed, everyone will be moaning about a bad online experience that could've been fixed. DLC is also a must have. playing on the same maps and playing the same mode for months on end is really boring. Take World at War for example, who is tired of the glitches and boring maps for that? Everyone is. So not having DLC and patches is a stupid decision and no gamer should have to live through that.
