NightstrikerX said: I don't think the PS3 is "doomed" persay. It's just that people painted expectations according to history and the performance of the PS1 and PS2. Those two systems were amazing, and sure their younger brother is a little rough around the edges. But it is still loved by many fans and still contributes much into the gaming industry as we know it. XMB may become the standard for all consoles in the near future, NXE is pretty damn close to it. And Blu-ray is likely to be adopted as the prime gaming media in the near future as well.
So what I'm sayin' is PS3 isn't doomed. Just people's expectations of the PS3 is doomed. Look at it a different light and the PS3 is a pretty damn amazing system and running around waving the doomed banner makes you look silly. It's doing very well. |
Don't try to derail this thread. The PS3 is domed, like it or not.

Never! Someone's expectations that PS3 will outsell the 360 week after week and surpass it in the near future is doomed. But the PS3 is still going strong, if the PS3 was doomed we wouldn't be hearing rampant rumors of price-drops, PS3 slim. No one would care for GT5, God of War 3, Uncharted 2, or any other PS3 title being released shortly. The system will survive so long as it's fans remain true to playing b3yond.

The PS3 slim is probably the only chance Sony has to undome the PS3. Neither Gran Turismo 5 nor God of War III will change a thing.
