As great as the Persona-series are, Atlus should really develop Shin Megami Tensei IV next, a new game for the main series, the last main series game was SMT III: Lucifer's Call/Nocturne.

I agree.  I hope it comes to PS3 with HD visuals but I imagine it will be either PS2 (if that is still an option) or Wii to save money.  People will buy these games no matter what and I imagine Atlus will not want to risk a release on an HD console...

Wasn't a Shin Megami Tensei- game listed in Atlus's PS3-gamelist? I wonder if it was canceled or put on freeze to give time for other games like Devil Survivor.

Really?  I haven't seen it on that list.  I'll have to check some of the underground sites to see what Atlus' plans are.  Demon's Souls is the only PS3 release that I have seen and I'm still on the fence on whether to support that one or not.  It looks to be an action RPG with online play elements and pretty cool graphics but I would have much preferred Atlus to make their debut on the PS3 with Megaten.

"Atlus' role-playing series is in development for Sony's next-generation console; details yet to come."

"Ever since the Megami Tensei series made its debut on the Famicom (Japanese NES) in 1987, the franchise has been Atlus' most popular product, aside from the Print Club sticker machines that died out in the 1990s. It's no surprise that the company would capitalize on the franchise's notoriety by kicking off its next-generation development with a familiar face.

According to the latest issue of Famitsu, Atlus has announced it is currently developing a new Shin Megami Tensei game for Sony's PlayStation 3. No details have been disclosed, but the company may release some additional information during the Tokyo Game Show next week.

The latest Shin Megami game announced by Atlus is a series spin-off for the PlayStation 2, titled Devil Summoner: Kuzunoha Raidou. No release date has been announced for the game yet."
