Why is this going to own Call of Duty again? From the description of the game and that gameplay video, it doesn't seem to have many similarities at all or feature the things that would pull a COD fan towards this game. It just seems within the genre, but not directly competing, kinda like how COD4 and Far Cry 2 can co-exist without necessarily one having to "own" the other. From my time spent with World at War, many COD fans are not particularly fond of the vehicle aspects of the game, and everyone but the snipers did not enjoy the increased size of some of the maps. They wanted a return to form of the Modern Warfare style, which seems to have nothing to do with the Battlefield series.

If you want to talk comparisons, put this up against something similiar, like Enemy Territory: Quake Wars or maybe Warhawk. Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield 1943 don't have much of anything in common to compete against. This whole thread just reeks of bitter tears because one series pulls in more fans than the other.

I just thought 1943 looks like a lot of fun...games are fun....and I thought reminding people it was coming out would be nice.  Frankly, Im sick of the FPS genre that was COD4 / WaW, time for something new until MW2 comes out.

And be aware, that one day, something is going to come along and knock off the COD / MW series, most series of its kind get to be on top for 3-5 years and then something new comes along.  COD is getting old...something will take its crown one day...and its ok, we will all survive.

Huh? This isn't your thread. I was responding to the OP and his argument of "ownage" between two distinctly different types of first person shooters.

As for your second paragraph, you're speaking about sales and supposedly this isn't what the thread is about.
