It would be nice if nintendo would follow on what MS and Sony are doing and put up some actual playable demos. If it requires me to get a 2 gig SD card to play demos so be it... Small price to pay...

I was really disappointed with the quality of the MP3 channel content. The videos were really compressed and didn't impress...

I don't know. Demos can actually turn as many people off as they entice.

Think about it. The people most likely to run out and grab the demo are the people looking forward to the game. These are almost certainly future customers and showing them the demo can significantly impact their desire to buy the game. Remember the reaction to the Heavenly Sword demo for instance? I've personally chosen not to buy games based on demos and I know others who are the same.

I think demos are better for the customer than the manufacturer. Trailers seem a better bet. You can hype a game with much less potential to spoil it.

Well, I look at the demos the opposite way... Developers are less likely to turn out crap if they are "strongly encouraged" to put out a demo... I can't tell you how many games I simply avoided beause the demo was rubbish.  I have played a few demos, however, where I put the game in a "must buy" category after playing the demo when I had not really even looked at the game previously... It works both ways...
