I know what you're getting at smokey, I felt the same way about the SNES SMB remakes in contrast to the original NES games.
It's like having a good ol' fashon hamburger taste, when the time comes that they will start messing with the flavour just a little bit, it feels like they sugar-coated it to the point that it's just plain wrong or feel betrayed. But don't let this get you down though, it just means that you really have a strong feeling for when it first came out, it's original estetic "taste"!
