1) why we arent stopping the taliban?
Because they are an underground organisation with thousands of members, you can slow them down, but they will always exist.
2) how many years will it take to stop them, if indeed we can stop them?
Never, it will never happen.
3) how many civilians and troops need to die to stop them
If it was up to me, no more. Hopefully Obama will agree to pull out ASAP.
4) if the taliban cant be defeated, why are we there?
I have not got a clue.
5) do the taliban pose a direct thread to the UK and/or US?
Haha, not a chance. If we pulled out they probably wouldn't want to mess about again because we hammer them into the ground when they do.
