Gaming - Blu-ray for gaming? - View Post

No. I personally don't think so. It IS very much a possibility. and if so happens, yes it will make Sony a lot of money.

BUT, I think both MS and Nintendo would go HD-VMD??? - That other tech that uses red lasers and 30GB discs. Apparently it is the same costing as DVD players so they wouldn't have to pay much at all to the Developer of this tech - then for movies would all go Download and skip blue-ray player altogether (gamecube skipped DVD).

If Blue-Ray does become the Standard for movies and thus makes it into XBOX/Wii next, then it'll all depend on what royalties Sony will charge???

$10 - $20 per Blue ray unit (in each console) would be a possibility. Any more then that and I'd say both MS and Nintendo would go their own way.

Come to think of it this way, THIS would be a MAJOR reason for MS to not want Blue-Ray to succeed. For future consoles. Hence why they are bleeding money for HD-DVD.

It's me...  no really, it IS me!!!
