I suggest you go replay the game and talk to everyone, do all the sidequests and just basically get all the juice out of the game. I had the same thought as you just recently (placing The Wind Waker before OOT), that is before I finished the game just recently and with a lot more understanding of what was going on. Last time I played the game, I didn't really care about the universe of the characters, I only wanted to get the items and stuff (and I didn't understand English much). The game has so much backstory and detail that you really notice that Miyamoto was at the peak of his career. I mean it's crazy what he's done with this game. The pace was perfect and at the same time it didn't hold your hand like most new Zelda games (seriously, now you do the temples in a certain way instead of deciding which one you want to tackle first)... and the ending... Wow! o_O

Oh, and I agree about Silentmac and his steam punk theory. I'm apparently not the only one seeing that technology in the Zelda world seems to make surface a lot more recently (ZeldaInformer is an awesome site, check it out). I mean, with the steamboat and the train in the last two DS games, I wouldn't be surprised to see airplanes or some concept of an airplane in a next Zelda.

And yeah, Ganondorf appearing in TP was pretty random. I replayed the game recently, and I still don't understand if he's THE Ganondorf from the Seal War or not. He seems like a random badass thief with the name Ganondorf... with the Triforce of Power... Which doesn't make much sense.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
