Splinter Cell Conviction will most likely have split-screen (Chaos Theory and Double Agent do) and has somewhat sandbox level design and Alan Wake is also sandbox, so even then there's room to reduce to linearity if they wanted to increase the graphics...thankfully there's no compromise.
