If you don't understand how a gyroscope helps refine tilt control... I'm not sure if you've actually used tilt control. Or maybe you don't understand what a gyroscope is.
Play Mario Kart with the wheel, do a trick, and understand that doing a trick wouldn't throw your steering off if you could use WM+ in Mario Kart. Every tilt game you've played up until now has required an accelerometer to use gravity to pretend to be a gyroscope, and now you have a real one. It's like taking the training wheels off a bike.
