So, I am hyped to find out one of my favorite movies, 'Star Trek 2: Wrath of Khan' is on Blu Ray. I was uber close to buying it when I realized Netflix had it. So, I dropped it into my Q and waited for it. I played it and ... it's not the Director's Cut, which is my favorite version. I was like 'What?!'

This is the second movie I was planning to upgrade to Blu but will pass on. The first was 'Man on Fire.' I ended up buying the special edition steelbook version of the movie just for the deleted scenes. The Blu doesn't have it.

I am tripping - and realized the studios have no plans to stop milking folks, especially early adopters. They will likely re-release the extended versions/Director's Cut of movies again on Blu. I'll just wait it out.

How do you feel about it? Should studios just release the Director's Cut to begin with or just release the standard version for folks, come back, add extra content and re-release the movie?
