Just so everyone knows, the upconversion of PS2 games is not as spectacular as you might hope. Most HDTVs have their own "upscaler" built into the hardware to convert the source image into the actual native display resolution. As long as you have the correct cabling (ie. component), it won't look significantly worse than the upscaled PS3 output. The PS3 does support a "smoothing" effect for PS2 games which does make a bit of difference to the output image, but again, it isn't as great as you might hope.
