I was using Naznatips figures I quoted when he said: The price difference is a 68% increase. You can see that quote plainly in my original post. I was basing my reply off of that post, and not off any figures I actually worked up.(maybe I misunderstood, you read his post and follow my logic) In fact, I stated this clearly, you must have missed it: A. To me, and most people, saying "twice the price" is a figure of speech. 70 percent increase in price is, arguably, close enough, and in my opinion, it certainly is. I wasn't attempting to spread false information, and I figured the real increase was more like 50 percent. My point was you are paying more for less, which you are. So, clearly I am exhonerated from your implication that I purposefully exaggerated. At worst, it was an accident, at best a misunderstanding. A simple mathematical error. That said, you did miss the entire point of my post. Nothing is exaggerated. The PSP Go loses the used market, screen size, the UMD drive, costs sony less to produce, gains a new look, some memory, and roughly 80($169 you say? to $250) dollars in cost to the consumer. What am I exaggerating? Also, PSP 3000's brand new, and Piano black stealed 2000's are going for 140 dollars on Ebay. :P Again, my argument is made, I don't want to argue about it, it is based on my opinion, and I would rather not keep talking about it. Why don't some of you tell us why you think the Go is worth the increase in price, despite the loss of the used market, significant loss of screensize(12 percent I assumed), and complete loss of the UMD drive? Did you know you could already download and play games legally on your old PSP, on Duo flash card? What does the Go bring to the table, that justifies the price, exactly? Pitch it to me, rather than nitpicking my valid arguments. Naz has told me not to argue much more in this thread, so stop arguing. Tell me what I'm missing about this device. Why buy it? I am open minded, but I just don't understand what this device has to offer over the old PSP, besides the asthetic and the portability. |
You claimed it was double the price before Naznatips said 68%. It was point D on your big list. Your first post in this thread by the way.
His post that mentioned 68% was in response to yours.
Your post was at 4:31GMT, Naznatips' was at 5:12GMT.
So how was your first post based on what Naznatips said?
I only said the "double the price" was exaggerated by the way. Which was correct because 45% is nowhere near close to 100%.
Maybe I am lost here.
Anyways who cares? It was a mistake and it has been corrected.
As for the rest of the stuff, it is all personal preference. You think one way, obviously many think otherwise. I can not sit here and answer for them but clearly they have already expressed that they do in fact think differently and view some of your cons as nothing to make a big fuss about. For example with my two PSP's I never buy games anymore on UMD so the lose of the UMD drive means absolutely nothing to me.
It is as simple as that and will remain that way. No use in saying "I don't know how many people are really buying this, or just saying they are to support Sony." and "Why exactly, do some of you want this device?". Or that people shouldn't buy it so they send a message to Sony.
Just accept the fact that some people just want it. End of story.
As for something positive about the Go. I won't be buying the thing so honestly I don't have an answer for you. Best I could do personally is say that I like that it lighter, but that is about it. I still enjoy my PSP 1000's.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
