I bow to your wishes, as always sir. However, allow me to respond to your barbs.

A. To me, and most people, saying "twice the price" is a figure of speech. 70 percent increase in price is, arguably, close enough, and in my opinion, it certainly is. I wasn't attempting to spread false information, and I figured the real increase was more like 50 percent. My point was you are paying more for less, which you are.

B. I thought that my percieved bias was very consistant. People think I'm a Sony hater, and these comments go right along with that.

C. All my points are directly from industry analyists I've read. Most notably Pachter, who claimed the Go was a rip-off, to paraphrase.

D. I was recommending that people not buy this. It sends a bad message to Sony, imo. They can give us less for more.

E. The used market for PSP games will significantly reduce, and people who own a Go will have no access to the used or rental market for gaming.

The UMD drive, costs more for them to manufacture, than does the 16(?) gb of flash memory. I assume that the sliding hinge is more breakable than a non existant hinge(which was a point I think was misunderstood by some other posters). I also assume, perhaps ignorantly, than the PSP Go doesn't necessarily have significant increases for portable media over even the basic PSP given the correct attachments(surely the original PSP has some form of flash memory). The screen is also 12 percent smaller, which to me, would be unacceptable, even for an equal price, much less a 70 percent increase.

I get a little carried away, but my points for recommending that people not buy this device are valid. It is not only, "not better" for gaming, it is in fact unarguably worse as you have pointed out. The increased multimedia functionality, I suppose I'm unaware of, and would be very glad to hear what expanded functionality the machine brings to the table.

Here is a fact that I assume is true: This item costs Sony less to produce than the original PSP. The reason is because there can be no piracy, and because there is no UMD drive, and the smaller screen, no games can be traded between PSP owners or bought used or discounted, all of which are direct removals of features from the consumer except the piracy matter, which is a "good removal". However, instead of passing those savings on to the consumer, or even charging us less for those removed features, Sony has actually increased the price of the console nearly 70 percent. Should the increase in storage space be worth that 70 percent increase, on top of the loss of those relatively important features? If it is, then the Go if for you. If not, then you are certainly in the vast majority.

What I want to know is a reason. Why should people choose the Go over the orginial PSP? Portability and asthetics? It is a hefty price to pay, literally, for such arguable features, when you are also losing some pretty important ones. Specifically at a time when we are unsure of how we will be able to play our old games on this thing.

Sony told us that this item was for the early adopter market(paraphrasing). That sounds like they just gave this thing an exhorbtantly high price because they knew they could get those people to buy it early, because it was new, and a status symbol. To me, that was offensive, and reminded me of them saying we should get 2 jobs for a PS3. That is one reason I'm against this thing(smaller screen is inexcusable, imo, as well).

That said, I'll leave this argument to others. Didn't mean to flame, and don't want to start trouble here. I've said my opinion, and now I'll let others have theirs.
