When it's a first effort it's safer this way esp when half the time they had no publisher.
They even had it rated T for Teen. The Conduit was made to get thier feet wet make it more for the masses and if it succeeded (so far it's looking good but have to wait and see about sales) Grinder and Gladiator look to be a bit more bold. I bet both will have an M rating...Gladiator obviously will.

Madworld and HOTDO from Sega aimed at one demographic and no doubt a smaller % of Wii owners and it's sales showed that.(BTW I own and like MW) Also for those on Final Fantasy,it's fairly cliche by now and some of you were not there in 1989 when all Square made was Shovelware and was about to go bankrupt, they made a little game with a very very very basic story as one last hurrah before shuttings it's doors but we know the rest is history. Not saying HVS will turn into a big huge AAA company (too soon to make any predictions like that) but The Conduit was trying to be bold with caution at the same time to help attempt to get thier name out but not so alienating it breaks the bank.

Right now for years they made half assed games to pay the bills,I think they finally want to make good games and pay the bills. Some say why not do that from the start...maybe it was much harder on smaller developers then and not all are so lucky to break out right away.

This gen with Wii was the perfect opportunity to like I said make a game they wanted with some risk but also careful.
