I'm sure that's a gross misstatement. The idea of micro-purchases for a digital avatar is nothing new. Almost all of those "free" MMORPGs that somehow plastered themselves all over the internet as ads use Micro-purchases. Microsoft is less copying home and more copying that idea, which is again. Fairly common practice.
They would be copying home if they created a virtual world of which you can roam around and communicate with your fellow xbox live membersand... well you've most likely played home.
