Why are people thinking the Wii is doomed because it isn't selling out anymore? Did they really expect that the console would sell out for its entire life cycle? Just because the sales have dropped doesn't mean people have lost interest, it just means it isn't selling out.
If the Wii wasn't selling more than every other home console or if they were less than one or two thousand then people can worry, but when the Wii is still on top of all the home consoles it isn't in trouble.
