To summarize Stage's ramblings:

The Wii has no hardcore RPGs
Dragon Quest is no longer hardcore, because it's on Wii

What's sad is that he actually seems to believe this. -_-

Oh, and how do handhelds not count? They're still consoles. They're merely portable consoles. I don't see how the PC doesn't count either, but if we are restricting this to only consoles, then I guess I can somewhat understand your reasoning.

I understand the fear of PC. Afterall, it has World or Warcraft, Diablo III, the Lord of the Rings Online, and Warhammer Online all exclusive.

Again, you read incorrectly.

1. I stated that the Wii has RPG's, but they are barely supported by the hardcore and they have no popularity behind them. They don't push consoles.

2. I stated that Dragon Quest may be on the Wii, but was only ever popular on the PS2. If the devs want to make money, they would exclusively put the franchise on the DS, where the hardcore RPG fans will support it. It isn't a draw on the Wii. It's sales are showing, that it is a little too hardcore for the Wii.

3. This is restricted to consoles, because like IGN, the major RPG wars have been fought between the likes of Nintendo and Sony. Sony knocked Nintendo out of the war and went without major competition from the original Xbox in its first year. The 360 is the only console giving Sony a run for its money this gen in the RPG department. Microsoft scouted genres well this time around.

4. There is nothing to fear about PC for consoles. Sony and Microsoft both are both awaiting MMORPG's to be major additions on both systems. PC's are not consoles, thats why they don't count for anything.
