Care to make any predictions on those sequels that won't sell like WiiFit+ and Wii Sports Resort?

Why not add MKWii sales to your list of "quality" titles and see how that argument stacks up to 360/PS3 and their bestsellers.

MKart>Halo 3, Brawl>COD4, Galaxy>GTA4, Zelda(inc GCN)>GoW

Are you sure they haven't had anything to do with the Wii selling 50M+?

Wii Sports Resort not bundled 7.5 million.  Pretty high but quite distant from the 40+ Wii Sports is credited with.  Wii Fit + 7 million.

I can't add Mario Kart Wii to a list of high quality games.  It's only like an 8.1 at Metacritic.

LOL! Then why mention any of the Wii series' games as system driving sales as on that site weren't they in the 7 range as well? Unreal.

That's what I said in my original post.  So far the Wii's sales haven't primarily been driven by high quality software and games as Wii Sports, etc, are not high quality software or AAA games while Mario Galaxy, etc, can't account for 50 million in sales for the console.

I believe at some point in time high quality games and software will have to drive Wii sales or it will fizzle out in the 80 to 100 million mark and never come anywhere near PS2 sales -- a console whose sales were primarily driven by high quality software.

Wow, so subjective it ain't even funny. Wii Sports isn't high quality software apparently because the end all be all of metacritic rate it what a 7? Yet it has proven to be thebiggest system seller EVER. I happen to think WS is propably the most revolutionary console game since Super Mario Bros. and will be remembered as such. Wii's sales are tracking above the PS2 for 3 yrs now, hasn't received any price cut or colors yet, none of the things that historically boost sales yet it is going to fizzle out before it passes PS2.  Thing is how many records has Wii broken? It is now pretty much in competition with itself. You can only go around breaking records for so long before you own the record.

Wii Sports isn't going to be remembered as better than anything other than a 7.6 that managed to gain quite a bit of sales do the real things that were driving the Wii's early faddish success.  These real factors had quite a bit do with the fact that it was cheaper than 360 and PS3 at launch.   Quite a bit of that early success can also be contributed to the scarcity factor.  Due to the fact that it was hard to get the system especially during its first two years and in particular at the holiday season the Wii had heightened demand due to the difficulty of being able to find one in stores and this demand led to interest on the parts of others in the console due to the fact that it was supposed to be hard to find and cheap.  And that was the recipe for the Wii's early success.  It had very little to do with Wii Sports but quite a bit to do with the combination of cheap price and the cabbage patch, tickle me elmo, 360 being hard to find in stores in Christmas '05 so people shelling out thousands of dollars on ebay auctions for them effect.
