Truth. People need to get the $299 PS3 out of their heads and grow up. The adult world that we actually live in now knows better. |
The Go is vastly overpriced, considering what you get for the money. The inability to pirate any games(which is great! screw pirates), the loss of a UMD drive and all your games(speaking of adult world, you really think Sony is going to let you download your physical media for free, lol? Pay for it twice, with some small reduction in price), and finally the design is absolute the same as the regular PSP, for controls, ect. Nothing new, or better.
Now, the Go is vastly overpriced, but the reason the PS3 don't drop 100 dollars(also being vastly overpriced for what you get), is because Sony can't afford it.
So, the 50 dollar price cut won't be the saviour price cut PS3 fans have been hoping for. It will have significant impact, but slow change(2 consecutive 50 dollar pricecuts) reduces the impact.
Sony needs a big pricecut to get rid of the "too expensive" stigma that has plagued the console for so long. Without a 100 dollar pricecut this year, or a 50 plus slim pricecut, they probably will end up third this generation.
I think that they won't get the pricecut they need and will end up last this generation. Next generation, Microsoft will start with an advantage, and the funds to maintain it, and extend the lead. MS will overtake Sony as the obvious core console to own for value and games, next generation. That is how Microsoft operates. That is my prediction. Right now, the momentum, and the money are clearly with Microsoft. How can Sony maintain their brand dominance when they are struggling to stay afloat? They have already lost tons of ground. What advantages will they have next gen, that will allow them to beat Microsoft? Their innovation, lol?
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
