PS3 has a future as much as the 360 does. Its sold about the same/more in the same time frame. Its just not THE console to own this generation(the wii is), it will however, continue to sell for a few years- even successfully maybe.
Buy one if your into the sony 1st party titles or blu ray. its about as simple as that.
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:
a. a AAA 3D sonic title
b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"
c. redesgined PS controller
d. SEGA back in the console business
e. M$ out of the OS business
