Too long, had to skim it, but yes I agree with him. AC:CF would have sold much better with motion although the 'core' audience and reviews would have bashed that move terribly.

Part of the problem is Nintendo didn't follow through. Part is the 3rd parties took the easy way out (copying Nintendo instead of innovating) and part of the problem is the mixed messages the users send. People complain about 'waggle' control and even games that used it wonderfully (Godfather, MP3) did not get the sales they deserved. The core abandoned waggle very quickly and the expanded audience did not want to play 'old games' with motion they wanted games designed around motion (Boom Blox) but that is a very risky move for publishers because theirs no history of those games and they are totally shooting in the dark. So for every success (Boom Blox) there's a lot of failures (Dewy, Zack & Wiki)

Fortunately MW+ will help as it actually allows I lot of what we originally wanted to be possible (sword fighting, TW'10, Tennis, etc) and solid games designed for Wii controls are coming out - Silent Hill, Conduit, Red Steel 2.

Question is, is it too little, too late or can Nintendo reengage the public's imagination?
