I really want to emphasize that you can't go wrong with a BIG screen.

I ended up going LCD for reliability / long term use but both LCD and Plasma simply look great. There is no reason not to get a 1080p TV any more. The best games support that resolution now. For difference in picture quality I tend to look for contrast ratios. The higher ones are usually better.
