I wonder if the Pirate Party, and the general idea and support of free digital information, is in any way connected to Communist and Socialist movements of the past, who also supported policies that favored the poor at the expense of the wealthy.

Not directly connected at all, but the thief mentality and paranoia is similar between them.

Thats kind of a silly statement to make.  The plight of a 19th century peasant, serf, or slave who worked in harsh conditions is much more respectable than a teenager who sits in his air-conditioned house, lounging on the coach while he downloads music without paying anybody.

I agree, but I didnt mean early 20th century commies, I meant rich world commies of our gen and our parent's gen. They're spoiled commies and cannot be compared with peasants lol.
