Even Matt himself said a number of times in the review that the game isn't up to the standards on other consoles.

It seemed to me he was saying that the game didn't have a big feature or "hook" that many of the other HD games had, such as Red Faction's destructible environs or Darkness' monters slavery.  In that sense, some could consider it generic.  To me, if it's like Perfect Dark then it's full of win.
