Well, I'm sending it to Sony today. Will take up to 10 working days. So hopefully I get a week of gaming on my holidays. Gunna play SoTC and other ps2 games, so not all is lost. (Had my Ps2 since 2000 - still kicking :) )
the guy at Sony confirmed it was a problem that 60gig model have had recently. So be careful all you 60 gig owners. I think it is just a matter of time.
