@TWRoO & others suggesting only sending to those who own the game

Some people never work on their game collection, and we want people to contribute and help others. We can add an option to disable requests for unowned games, but I wouldn't want it to be the only way the system works. Some people rented the games and never owned it, but could still write a simple FAQ or add passwords to the game page.

True, but there will generally be enough people to help the user out.... which is what it is for.

The way it is now I think most people will just ignore it.... or indeed turn it off. This way no one has any clue about whether they own the game unless they click on the cheat requests link.... and if the requests are going to be dissapearing and appearing then you would need to keep checking it all the time just to know if there is a new game at all, never mind one that you could actually help with.

Personally I don't think the small number who don't update their game collections matters... The point of this function is to help the person who needs it, and for the majority of games there are enough people who have it added for them to notice.... some of the more obsure games with only a handful of VGC users added may not get replies... but then they also wouldn't with the current system because no one would anser them.

@nightstriker.... I was going to say something like that, I thought the majority would just end up with people PMing the user rather than putting it on thegame page, it makes it more personal and there is less stress on writing it properly, even if it helps fewer people.... I don't suppose there is anyway to stop this though.
