Component cables separate the color information into three cables, whereas composite uses only one cable for three color channels. This means there's less interference between the channels, which results in higher color fidelity.

Try Metroid Prime 3 or Super Mario Galaxy with both cables and you'll see the difference.

 

Yeah, what I mean is that I didn't noticed this happens even if I put the Wii on 480i but with component cables. Thanks for the info :)
