Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your week and i hope your cat returns. If it helps my cat Geoffrey disappeared for almost two weeks earlier this year. Cats are wiley creatures, I hope yours comes back safe and sound like mine (or alternatively you can just have mine lol).
I can help with the TV if you like, but it sounds like you know what the problem is already, but if you need anymore help I'm very nifty with TVs.
My weeks sucked too. I found out that my final grade for a module at uni has been moderated down and I have to move house this weekend... busy busy stress busy stress
