Just make sure to set the Wii to Widescreen mode, and EDTV / HDTV mode (480p) after you plug the cables. It's two separate settings.

Maybe is just my TV (Panasonic Plasma 42in) or my cables (Nyko) but I don't think component cables make a HUGE difference. Sure, some things look a bit mor vivid and better, but is not a whole different thing, not to me. Without component cables looks really good, and just a bit better with them.
Also I noticed that in some games, Zelda for example, the jaggies are more evident. Anyone with similar issue?

If you prefer blurriness to jaggies, you can use 480i mode with component cables. Then you'll still have the advantage of better colors.
I prefer detail to blurriness though, even if it means a few jaggies.

I didn't know that about the colors. I'm gonna check that. Anyway, I prefer 480p and for the jaggies I lowered the sharpness. Even Nes games look good in that way.
