I believe there is truth in that. Nintendo hasn't had good third party relations since the SNES days. They need to do something to show developers that there is more money to made on their system than the others, and convince them to make games for them. People go where the games are. I don't this gen will end up like the last one, Microsoft and Nintendo are doing too well to be blown away by sony at this point. But Nintendo could turn a clear victory into a muddled 3 way semi-tie where there is no decipherable winner of this generation. They need to show that 3rd parties are supporting them. Monster Hunter 3 is a good start, but if capcom announces something even bigger for PS3 in a few days from now, what has that proven? Nintendo is in a precarious position, straddling the line of tremendous victory, and a possible loss for 3 gens in a row.
