I do agree that it might be a placeholder but there are some games that are just listed as "date pending" and "TBA" or my favorite "12/31/09"

I love the 12/31 dates :)  I think the fact that GT5 wasn't playable at E3 though pretty much confirms it isn't coming this year. 

not really. All they have to do is update GT5:P with some of the new features and state GT5 looks better. Instant "demo"
