I know my Wii is fried. It still plays everything great but it makes this extremely loud humming noise. When I say loud I'm talking louder then the origional 360. Its so loud I have to turn the TV way up to drown out the noise of the Wii. I now unplug it when I'm not using it because it was making to much noise and I felt it and it was smoking hot.
But I don't want to send it in, A. Because my warranty is over (Bought my Wii day one) and B. Because I'd be without a Wii while they fixed mine!
