No you're putting too much emphasis on the board, if they had been able to implement Wii fit without the board it would have sold just as well and would have been pushing systems, people get Wii fit, for the exercises and for the training help, the balance board is only important as a way to give those experience, but its the gameplay that attracts people, not a flat piece of plastic
