What we don't know is what method(s) were selected for play. There are a lot of different options available. So to make an accurate assessment is not possible based upon the information provided.
Actually, on Tiger Woods, I think the game has outsmarted the poster. It must be thinking "this [person] is making movements that he should not be making. I am just going to stand here until he does what he is supposed to do rather than dance around like that [person] is trying to make me."
Pretty smart programming on EA's part.
