Many of you believe that the current trend the Wii sales are following are a result of it being a fad etc etc. I made this thread to prove you are wrong, totally wrong, once and for all.

Let's take a look at some ps2 sales in the year 2000.

Hardware:

ConsoleWeekWeeklyTotal
60744,066 (+37%) 29,253,402
31416,026 (+27%) 17,379,172
9810,597 (+109%) 4,304,005
2334,167 (+78%) 5,219,954
403,637 (-59%) 3,371,547
1063,180 (+25%) 1,868,907
1101,161 (-2%) 340,639
921,045 (+299%) 1,098,246

Say what is this? a conspiracy? PS2 AT 3637? BLASPHEMY!. Yes you read it correct, the console that sold 120+++ million and is still selling above his successor had a weekly sales low of 3,637 units, even lower than what is considered a failure for Nintendo, the N64 (GC wasn't released back then).

What I'm trying to say is that this is just a yearly returning event in Japan which is hard to understand for the Western civilization. We also forget japan just has a population of approx 120 million, which makes it a lot less wise to compare this to the Americas, or even Europe. People in Japan just have these holidays when they buy alot, and these, i call them - Off-holidays, when they buy alot less. We just need to understand and accept this, so that for future reference, people remember why especially the Wii sales are the lowest, which is mostly due to the market that the Wii targets to; Children that went to school, parents waiting for holidays to buy gifts, elderly taking more naps than usual, fanboys arguing on forums etc.

Lastly, i'm gonna pull a John lucas ;)
