kwaad you have obviously no clue what goes into PC development and Testing to make sure it all works.

Blizzard- has almost 100 - yes ONE HUNDRED different PC's setup for Testing their product to make sure it works when released, and even then some pc's won't run the software right when released. the allow Thousands of people to test their software and post problems to catch configurations they do not have setup.

different cpu's
different MotherBoards
different graphics cards
different sound cards
different network cards(yes this can affect games too)

different drivers for graphics cards
different drivers for motherboards
different drivers for sound cards
different drivers for network cards
different hard drive configurations- normal, raid 0 raid 1 etc...
does the computer have a TVTuner?(mine does)

Just using oh say 1 cpu from AMD 1 cpu from intel
then JUST the current gen graphics cards ati nvidia)
then JUST the current gen sound cards (creative ,turtlebeach- "ac97"(not sure who makes the built in sound on motherboards)

2 cpu's
13 video cards(8k and 2k series ONLY
3 sound cards(ac97 x-fi, turtlebeach)

total DIFFERENT computers 2x13x3 =78 different configurations.
while all the 2k series ati video cards are Similar...they are not exactly the same.. now lets bring in drivers- i have had games that WOULD NOT WORK with certain Drivers for my video card...

ati has released between 9-12 different sets of drivers for the video cards they have in the past year.... maybe one from 6 months ago will work, maybe the latest one won't work with your software...and you have to test it lets be nice and say the 3 latest sets of drivers you are going to test...

of those above computers 36 of them are amd/ati configurations...so you have to test your software on 108 different configurations you have to test...you do not just stop at one that works, you HAVE to test so that when a person complains you can say, update your video driver(or sound or network etc)

a console is a console is a console, it is why a console was MADE if the first place. to make it easier for the Devs to make a game for it.

a 360 is a 360 ,is a 360.

if the software runs on 1 360 it will be able to run on ALL 360's. same for a DS same for a PSP same for a PS2,ps3,Wii etc.
