I have to admit this article and that picture in particular has swayed my opinion of the PSP Go slightly and I'm starting to think it might not be so bad.

I have a question: Do you have to have a PS3 to download PS1 games to this? If I got this I would want to play FFT (the original and the PSP remake) on it but I do not have (nor do I plan to get) a PS3.

I believe this was written by Rainbird, and he used sources to back up his points. I'm glad he did, because I was also rather sick of defending the PSP Go from everyone who doesn't seem to realize that it isn't a bad idea at all.

There is a PSP store, and I am almost positive that you can download PS1 games from it, provided you have access to a wireless connection. I've only been on the PSP store once, since I don't have wireless, but even if you can't, you should be able to download anything from your PC and load it onto the PSP. (Only problem there is I hear they had to use something other than a USB mini port...? Maybe? I'm not sure on that.)

I'm pretty sure you can download PS1 games from both the PC and PSP Store, and the new Media Go software should make it easier to use your PSP with your PC, and you get a USB cable with your PSP Go! so connecting the two wont be a problem.
