If the next Nintendo console is "like the Wii"... then it will be innovative, like the Wii was, and positioned to take the market by storm, like the Wii did.
The HD/SD question has already been addressed, but I think it's also interesting to assume that Nintendo will stand still with respect to motion control, or whatever else they think of. I mean, the demo of the Vitality Sensor (for better or worse) ought to show that Nintendo isn't exactly resting on its laurels.
So, yeah, I expect that the next Nintendo console will probably take some major risk with respect to innovation, just like the Wii did. It just seems to be their current character to do so.
