Because I would consider myself a gamer, but, had it not been for the Wii, I probably wouldn't own a present-gen console right now... and, at present, I can count the games that would make one of the HD twins worth purchasing to me on one hand.  And I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat.

 

Anyhow, my point was that there's plenty of appeal in the Wii for a gamer.
