I believe Nintendo has gotten a lot smarter when it comes to their consoles/handhelds after Iwata took over.
We may not know what is to come into the future, but I think after this generation that it is safe to say that they may know a thing or two about how to create innovative pieces of equipment and make them something that we need (whether through entertainment, marketing, witchcraft....take your pick).
