Who ever said the next Ninty console wasn't going to be HD? The reason Nintendo didn't want HD on the Wii was because when it was released less than 10% of homes had an HDTV. If HD gets saturated enough, Nintendo will definatly include HD graphics standard.
The reason the Wii is successful is that it's cheap, innovative, and has tons of fun games. There's no reason Nintendo can't keep using this formula for decades to come.
Wii has more 20 million sellers than PS3 has 5 million sellers.
