This would be great if they do it right. I don't want a cheap tacked together version that's just meant to make a few more bucks.

If they did that, it wouldn't even be playable. Remaking games for less powerful systems is not easy. You have to remake all code and assets from scratch. Just because a lot of gamers think that's easy and you can just slap them together doesn't make it so.

The irony of course if back in the day all arcade ports had to be redone for the consoles. Street Fighter II on the SNES was downgraded from the arcade version but still played well.

I know! All the sprites had to be recoded for all the systems. And many games got major downgraded put on other systems. Imagine if Contra came out for the NES with gamers like this. They'd tear it apart for losing the original game's 16-bit look (it was an arcade game originally). Who cares if it played just as well. Konami obviously just rushed it.

There's nothing that SF4 is doing that prevents a decent port on the Wii if they want to do it. Not having to run at HD resolution scales back the amount of horsepower they need.

Some of my most fun moments with a console were with Contra on the NES and Street Fighter II on the SNES. If they are going to port it, I would like to see some Wii exclusive characters.
