The Xbox 360 is stronger during the holidays and the PS3 is stronger during the regular non holiday months. The Xbox 360s sales matched the PS3s sales just after the $400 price cut and the price delta in the U.S was only $50, scrub that it exceeded the PS3s sales in the U.S.A. The PS3 is stronger during the year owing to the greater influence of Japan and Others than America, but at the end of the year the sales balance tips towards Americas where the Xbox 360 is stronger.
So thats a lot of the reason why I believe that a $299 PS3 will still get outsold by the Xbox 360 this Christmas. Once the unfavourable months during the year are over, the Xbox 360 will move into its favourable Christmas holiday season and once again sales will be sky high.
