I dunno. Often those handsigns take time to perform and I can only seeing performing such a feat. Particularly for those who are not very adept at hand gestures, would only be frustrating. Taking the time to perform handsigns means your slowing the pace of the game, and in a world filled with ninja? That's kinda a bad idea.
Points for creativity though.
